Healing through Tradition, Guided by Experience
Our Story
Dr. Lydia Wu
Welcome to our family-operated Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinic based in Richmond, BC. For five generations, our family has been dedicated to preserving and refining the ancient healing arts of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a special focus on Tuina medical massage therapy. The renowned Tuina techniques of rolling (Gun Fa), developed by Master Ding JiFeng, and thumb kneading (Yi Zhi Chan), passed down from his uncle, have been refined through over a century of dedicated practice in the family. Dr. Lydia Wu, who graduated from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, further advanced these techniques from Master Ding JiFeng, passing them on to her daughter, Sabrina Fong, and grandson, Timothy Fong, ensuring their continued evolution and excellence. Rooted in generations of expertise and a deep understanding of holistic healing, our time-tested techniques have consistently proven effective in relieving pain and treating muscular and soft tissue disorders. We are proud to uphold this honored tradition, now carried forward by Dr. Lydia Wu’s grandson, Timothy Fong in Canada. Dr. Lydia Wu is comfortably retired after 50 years of work experience but you may see her drop by the clinic once a while giving her grandson consultation.

Dr. Song Yin Cai
Dr. Lydia Wu's husband, Dr. Song Yin Cai, graduated from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well, specializing in Herbal Gynecology. He further advanced his knowledge by studying under China's National Treasure, Dr. Zhu Xiao Nai, a famous Herbal Gynecologist. Dr. Song Yin Cai was fortunate to be selected as 1 of the 5 students Dr. Zhu Xiao Nai would take in his lifetime, out competing hundreds of thousand applicants across China. During Dr. Song Yin Cai's intense study of over 3000 herbs and creating custom tailored formulas, he became China's second best Herbal Doctor right before Dr. Zhu Xiao Nai's son, taking first place in China's first TCM competition. Dr. Song Yin Cai has passed all of his knowledge in herbal medicine to his grandson, Timothy Fong. Dr. Song Yin Cai is comfortably retired after 50 years of work experience but you may see him drop by the clinic once a while giving his grandson consultation.
Timothy Fong, TCMP (TCM Practitioner)
Timothy Fong’s journey in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) began in early childhood, growing up in his grandparents’ TCM clinic in Ottawa, Ontario. From a young age, he not only witnessed but personally experienced the profound therapeutic results of his grandmother’s Tuina therapy and his grandfather’s herbal medicine in treating injury and illness.
At the heart of Timothy’s practice is a distinctive Tuina system founded by his family and continuously practiced, refined, and preserved for over a century. This lineage-based therapeutic method has been carefully passed down across generations, emphasizing structural precision, deep tissue understanding, meridian regulation, and practical clinical effectiveness. Unlike standardized textbook techniques, this family-developed system represents decades of real-world refinement and hands-on mastery.
Recognizing the responsibility of carrying this legacy forward, Timothy underwent rigorous apprenticeship under his grandmother’s direct guidance. Years of disciplined training allowed him to internalize the subtleties, diagnostic insight, and technical precision that define this century-old method.
To complement his classical training with modern scientific knowledge, Timothy earned his Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of British Columbia in 2017, developing a strong foundation in human physiology and pathology. He further advanced his clinical expertise by completing the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine program at Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver in 2021.
With over a decade of dedicated study in his family’s century-old Tuina and herbal medicine traditions, Timothy is committed to preserving this rare therapeutic lineage while integrating it thoughtfully into modern healthcare practice. As a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, he provides precise, results-oriented treatment grounded in heritage, science, and clinical experience.
